REDCONE (Resource Discovery, Contract Negotiation and Execution) is a collaborative research project involving GBST Holdings Pty Ltd (GBST) and the Cooperative Information Systems Research Group within the Centre for Information Technology Innovation at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

The global aim of the project is to design and implement innovative platforms for trading goods and services over the Internet. Please consult the project's outline for further details.

REDCONE is funded by the Australian Research Council's SPIRT Grant "Self-describing transactions operating in a large, heterogeneous, distributed environment". It involves a dozen researchers including academics and full-time researchers from the QUT and the University of New South Wales, as well as employees from GBST. Started in November 1999, the project is expected to span until the end of 2002.
